*You MUST be over 13 years of age to roleplay here. Yes, I am aware that you can lie. But let's all hold a little bit of Candor in us before joining, all right?
* No harassing anyone. Period. This should be obvious. Bullying is NOT tolerated out of character, and if you are caught, you WILL be removed and blocked from the site. Non-negotiable.
* Child friendly content please, or a warning if it is not. No really explicit content is allowed. This is a proboards administration rule, not my own. Breaking this rule can and will ruin the roleplay experience for EVERYONE when the proboards admins delete our roleplay. I have seen it happen before. So let’s not take any chances and keep everything PG-13 and under, all right?
IF things between characters become a little explicit (meaning sexual content), simply skip ahead to the 'morning after' or 'moment after' and move on from there.
* Please be literate. Please post at least 100 words each time you roleplay. And of course, do your best to ensure that you are using grammar and spelling to the best of your ability. We are a literate roleplay, and nothing will change that. Out of character, it would preferable if this was applied, but of course you can use some chat speak to the extent of brb, lol, etc. N0 typ1ng lyk d1s wi11 b3 t0l3r4t3d. If you can’t read that, I envy you. I wish I didn’t have the ability to type it.
*Long posts are ENCOURAGED! Never feel the need to apologise for typing out and posting a long reply to a thread. Long = good. Remember this. Short = not so good.
* You must have a banner of your character while roleplaying. If you cannot make one yourself, simply ask an admin for some help. I, Courtney, am NO expert on graphic-making, but I can make decent, passable banners if need-be
*Please do not stretch the boards with your banners. They do not have to be a certain size, but if they stretch the board, they will be asked to be removed. This is a roleplay, anyways, and while banners are a must on this site, they are not the main focus.
If anything, try to keep the height of your banners less than 400 px and the width less than 500 px
*When typing out of character in roleplay please use: OOC// type message here, ((ooc//type message here)) ((type message here)) or something similar.
*Try and limit the amount of time you are out of character whilst roleplaying.
*There shall be absolutely NO fighting whilst out of character! If you feel the need to, stop yourself and work it out in a personal message or just forget it altogether! If you really have a problem, then feel free to PM Courtney about it. We don’t want any negativity here, as this is a place for fun!
*Meanwhile, fighting whilst IN character (roleplaying your character) is fine. In fact, it is encouraged for dramatic reasons ;)
*For the cbox, please only speak in English. The main language of this roleplay site is English, as everyone here speaks it. Anything you type on the cbox should be for EVERYONE to read. If you have something private to say to someone, please PM them. Otherwise it just seems rude to exclude others who cannot understand certain languages. No offense intended with this rule, of course. Thank you.
*We completely understand that life sometimes gets in the way of roleplaying (school comes first -- we don't want you failing because you're RPing up a storm), but if you do find you need to take a little break from roleplaying, we ask that you notify us in some way. Preferably, and possibly the easiest way, it to create a thread under Member Accouncements that you'll be going on a hiatus for a while. This way we'll know why you suddenly disappeared and won't worry for your life. Also we can offer words of encouragement :) And it's also fair of you to notify us, especially those you are roleplaying with, so they won't be left hanging.
*Members who disappear for 2+ weeks without notice will have their accounts removed from the forum. The admin will notify everyone when a member sweep is happening. This is to ensure that we are not cluttering the boards with members that no longer exist here. However, if you are on a hiatus and let us know, your account will be safe, which is why the above rule is important.
*In regards to having one character in multiple threads: this is allowed only under the following circumstance:
- Each thread would be happening at a different day/time to prevent the impossible, which is being in two places at once. I'm sure technology has advanced a bit more in the Divergent world, but not in the sense of cloning people safely or in the sense of time travel. So as long as each thread happens at a different time: post away!
BUT BE CAREFUL: some things that happen in certain threads could greatly affect the future of your character, and thus affect the thread that happens a little later. For example, if they jump off a building (*cough Dauntless cough*) and break a bone, they would have a broken bone in the next thread. This is not Hogwarts, so bones cannot be mended instantly, unfortunately.
*Keep things realistic. I don't feel I have to explain this rule any further, so I'll leave it at that.
But be aware that characters who kill or cause mass amounts of destruction are VERY likely to get into loads of trouble with the city officials.
Also keep in mind that this is a post-apocalyptic dystopia. Things like gas/petrol will be scarce and expensive. Cars are rarely seen, but do exist (usually rich families and city officials will have some).
*Once you have read these rules, please reply to this board with the last letter of your first name followed by the first name of your favourite author. If you do not have a favourite author, just pick a random author you like. Thank you.
