I'm reading Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead right now, its the sixth book in the Vampire Academy series. Its quite good. I always have loved these books, they are a nice break from super serious books. Or ones that really make me think, like Divergent which is the last book I read. Not to say these are fluffy, nothing books because they aren't. They do deal with serious things but they don't make me think as much since its alternate universe kind of thing. Its hard to explain unless you've read the books. So, anyone here a fan of the Vampire Academy series?

Oh my goodness, they are so great. There are so few people that I know that have read them. A lot of people just write them off because they are part of the "vampire craze" started by Twilight. But you can't judge all books by one franchise. There are a lot of great vampire series out that a lot of people won't read because they hate Twilight. While I used to be into those and have since then, come to my senses. There is no reason to hate on that series just because you don't like it. If you don't like it, don't read the books or watch the movie. /rant. Sorry, I spend a lot of time on tumblr and see so much pointless hate. But you should definitely check these books out when you get a chance!

*continues a bit on your rant for I almost life for rants, haha* I'm pretty sure a lot of Richelle's books were published before the whole Twilight thing, anyways. I mean, she's got a LOT of them out already. I love LJ Smith's books, especially her Night World series. I've also come to my senses. I saw the movie. Then I was like "I can't see a movie knowing there are books out and not read them" so I read the books. And then I liked them. I read them all and wanted to know what happened next. And after the crappy conclusion I was like... wait.. They just fought a war and there were NO casualties? #Unrealistic *I hashtag random things now thanks to Twitter and Tumblr*
I'll probably get that series next! I've been reading a lot of the more 'serious' plots as you've mentioned and need something a tad more light and fantasy-esque. I bought a book series about fairies for once I've read all of the dystopians in my pile, haha. The plot looks good, though.

Oh my goodness, yes! Someone who actually likes the first three books and then is thinking what the crap about the last one. I will say though, that the last two Twilight movies to be released have been a lot better. I actually liked Breaking Dawn, aside from the honeymoon (where I conveniently left the theater to go to the bathroom), I just don't like sex scenes. I loved Smiths books until the Vampire Diaries show came out. I was so excited for it at first but then when it just got progressively more and more messed up, I stopped watching it. I will admit, its still a great show but I just loved the original books so much, I'm not a fan of changing things so much that it literally has nothing in common but names and basic plot points. I started watching the Secret Circle though and it was pretty decent. I didn't get very far into it though. I have Night World, at least the first volume, I just have to actually read it now. Its on my never-ending list and has a greater chance of me reading it since I already own it.

Yeah the first three had an interesting enough plot line, but I HATED how everything was so happily-ever-after. No one died (which isn't possible with war--sorry). Bella became a super special, powerful vampire. Jacob found love in someone else and was fine suddenly with Bella and Edward... It was just all ridiculous. The movies were horrible. I have yet to see Breaking Dawn. I'm in no hurry to, but it is possible I will one day see it. I saw the first one on the first day because so many of my friends were obsessed with the books and I was like "Sure, I'll go." For the second one, I only saw it because my mom needed someone to go see it with (she's a fan -_- And she hasn't and basically refuses to read Harry Potter. She's everything I loathe about that fanbase! haha). And then for the third one, my friend had the dvd so I was bored and watched it with her (I really wanted to see Bella punch Jacob in the face and break her hand, lol). But yeah.
I haven't read the Vampire Diaries books, but I'm not going to start them now because LJ Smith was fired from writing the rest of them, and I like her writing. So to support her, I'm not going to support the ghost writer. I like the show, though, but I'm sure I'd feel the same as you if I had read the books first. My mom's reading The Secret Circle and she says the books are SO much different from the tv show. I guess they basically just took the basic themes and created a whole new plot and such.
The Night World series is cool. I've read all the ones that are out, and am impatiently-but-patiently waiting for the final one. But that's not due out until 2014 :/

Yeah, the first three books aren't too bad but the first two movies are terrible. Eclipse wasn't too bad because there was more fighting and Jackson Rathbone whom I love. Have you ever seen Dread? Wow, they fired her from her own concept, that's ridiculous. It is a lot different but its still a pretty decent show. I still like Vampire Diaries, I just couldn't get over the shock originally of how vastly different it was. One day, I will read those books. Just like one day, I will get to everything on my list. I'm determined to have an empty list when I die. Unlikely but I can try.

I think the only way I could have an empty list is if people stopped writing, haha. But that's my goal to: an empty list when I die, and a satisfied me.
I've never heard of Dread. What is it about?

Well, I'm hoping to at least get through the big ones. I'm working on a book list now but so far all that's on it are the novels that I own. I still need to go through the rest of my goodreads list and either add them on there or add the books I don't own to my written list. Plus, its hard to keep up with the list when I buy new books. But I would be happy to have gotten through at least 50% of the books I want to read. Dread is a movie about fear, to state the obvious. This guy decides to put people through their worst fears to see how they react in the name of a fear study because he's seriously screwed up. Jackson Rathbone is in and its a fantastic movie. Though there are a few inappropriate scenes, those are easily skipped and it a great movie.

Hm that movie sounds kind of interesting. It sounds like it's in the horror category, though, which I'm not a huge fan of. However I just don't like horror movies that have creepy faces and this sounds like it might fit in with a thriller/suspense part of horror *Goes to look it up on IMDB*

It is a bit of a horror movie but its very good. I'm not a great fan of horror movies either but this one was pretty decent. You should definitely check it out if you think it sounds good!

It looks pretty cool. I watched the trailer yesterday. If I ever come across it, perhaps I'll watch it. If I ever remember

You definitely should. Its quite an interesting movie. It got me thinking a little bit about fear and how much to an extreme they can be taken.
