Sbitting away from the other Dauntless waiting to be called for their aptitude tests, Jacey thought over her choice. She knew where she'd be most happy, where she'd be happiest. Amity was her choice, no matter where her results led her. Which aptitude did she want to shine through? Erudite. That's the one, of cool logic and reason, that'll work best in her benefit for this. Hearing her name called, she sttod, walkning towards the Abnegation volunteer, who had called her name. She swallowed nervously, and immersed herself in calm, barely aware of seating herself and the needle prick in her neck.
Her eyes flew open. A table in front of her, and the choice of cheese or a knife. Cheese, obviously. Why would she want a knife? Although a knife could be used for defense.....too late. The table andknife vanished, leaving her standing in a fog, holding the cheese. She saw a dog approaching her from it, snarling and baring it's teeth. Calm, stay calm. Dogs can scent fear. Don't look it in theeye, threatning behaviour. She knelt down, and held her hand out palm up. The dog stepped forward, and sniffed her hand. She slowly fed it the cheese, effectively keeping the dog distracted, and assuring it she was a friend. She waved a little girl away from the dog, while she was feeding it. Slowly, the scene vanished, leaving her standing in a crowded area. She felt someone pushing his finger against her chest, and snarling, asking if she knew this girl. Recognizing her as the one she waved past the dog, she knew instinctively he meant her no good. Thinking quickly, she shook her head. "No I don't, but I think that man over there may." She pointed towards a man standing away from the crowd, thus getting him away from her.
Opening her eyes, she looked over at the abnegation volunteer who looked at her, and simply said "Erudite."
She stood up, and walked toward the door, hearing a soft "be careful." She turned around, but the woman was preparing for the next one. Shrugging her shoulders, she walked out of the room, letting out a sigh of relief. She was safe, for now.
